About The Position

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies, while serving customers and providing customer service. Demonstrate the company’s leadership behaviors and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The role involves preparing and displaying merchandise, maintaining product quality and freshness, organizing and cleaning work areas, and safely using and maintaining equipment. The Meat/Wrapper assists customers at the counter, supports good customer and associate relations, and follows company, health department, and applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, and similar materials.
Qualified and able to operate power equipment and job tools, including an automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack.
Able to work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willing to help all department members.
Able to handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Nice To Haves

Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
A past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.

Responsibilities

Prepare and display merchandise neatly, efficiently, and in an orderly manner.
Check product quality and ensure products are fresh, safe, and properly rotated.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and organized.
Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Maintain display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness.
Unload trucks, sort merchandise, and prepare it for sale.
Provide good customer and associate relations.
Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and Health Department policies and procedures.
Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
Communicate with customers and fellow associates.
Serve customers promptly and cheerfully at the counter; greet customers and help them find products.
Follow current department and company rules and duties, as well as applicable state and federal laws.
Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly; be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Follow company policies and procedures, particularly those concerning dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
