About The Position

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Serve customers, provide customer service, and demonstrate the company’s leadership behaviors and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The role involves preparing and displaying merchandise, maintaining product freshness and inventory, keeping work areas and equipment clean and organized, and following company, health department, and applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

Willingness and availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, and similar materials.
Ability and qualification to operate power equipment and job tools, including an automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack.
Ability to work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help all department members.
Ability to handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Nice To Haves

Meat work experience or similar food preparation experience.
A work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.

Responsibilities

Prepare and display merchandise neatly, efficiently, and in an orderly manner.
Check product quality, freshness, safety, and proper rotation.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
Keep carts, tools, supplies, and floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Maintain display cases with appropriate inventory levels and fresh products.
Unload trucks, sort merchandise, and prepare it for sale.
Provide good customer and associate relations.
Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and Health Department policies and procedures.
Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
Communicate with customers and fellow associates.
Promptly and cheerfully serve customers at the counter, greet them, and help them find products.
Follow current department and company rules and applicable state and federal laws.
Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly; interact promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously, and professionally.
Follow company policies and procedures, especially those concerning dress, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintaining a workplace free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely according to company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
