About The Position

Central Market is seeking a Production Specialist for its Sandwich Line. The role handles fresh ingredients and works under direct supervision, applying basic and some advanced skills, procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the area of specialization. The employee is responsible for achieving goals and objectives and uses specialized subject-matter knowledge. Availability must include flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; overnight work may also be required. The role includes preparing and handling products from production through stocking and sales, ensuring product quality and department sanitation, maintaining organized storage and work areas, and assisting customers. Responsibilities may be modified based on business needs, and employees may be asked by their supervisor to perform other job-related tasks, subject to reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in food preparation.
2–5 years of related experience.
Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads of at least 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good verbal and written communication.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to coach other Partners.
Ability to inform customers about ingredients.
Demonstrates and shares expertise about food.

Nice To Haves

Experience with commercial production is preferred.

Responsibilities

Mix, shape, bake, wrap, and stock products.
Ensure product quality before products are sent to the sales floor.
Maintain sanitation in the department.
Keep back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production areas organized.
Read and execute the daily production list.
Calculate figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages, and volumes.
Provide customer service, including answering questions and taking orders by phone.
Assist in monitoring product quality and shrink.
Order and receive products and supplies.
Maintain transfer records.
Prep, wrap, price, sell, and continuously stock products.
Demonstrate products or prepare customer samples for self-service.
Provide customer service and use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
Perform other job-related tasks as requested by a supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodations.
