About The Position
The Measure Technician (In-Home Advisor) works independently in a traveling field role supporting The Home Depot’s Field Services Organization. The role provides professional customer service that meets or exceeds company standards and customer expectations. Responsibilities include conducting in-home measure appointments, building and maintaining customer relationships, supporting sales and product inquiries, taking measurements, and coordinating installations within the Measurement Services center Field Services Organization. The technician provides a positive customer experience through accurate measurements and calculations, quote review, and presentation. The role primarily involves traveling to appointments within a predefined geographical area, with occasional service support at company locations. Work is completed using company-issued devices. The position focuses on customer service, measurement accuracy and timeliness, and sales productivity.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation.
- At least 1 year of previous related work experience.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily routes for pre-assigned measure appointments as efficiently and accurately as possible.
- Cooperate with Associates, Supervisors, and Managers to complete other assigned work activities.
- Follow all policies and procedures and adhere to the work schedule.
- Ask customers open-ended questions and listen to their project and product needs.
- Describe merchandise features and benefits and explain the steps involved in completing projects.
- Use product and services knowledge to answer customer questions.
- Identify opportunities to engage customers in other services programs.
- Provide accurate measurements and calculations, and review and present quotes.
