About The Position
The Measure Technician (In-Home Advisor) works independently in a traveling field role supporting The Home Depot’s Field Services Organization. The role provides professional customer service that meets or exceeds company standards and customer expectations. The technician conducts in-home measure appointments, builds and maintains customer relationships, supports sales and product inquiries, takes measurements, and coordinates installations within the Measurement Services center Field Services Organization. The position focuses on providing a positive customer experience through accurate measurements and calculations, quote review, and presentation. The technician primarily travels to appointments within a predefined geographic area and may also support company locations. Work is completed using company-issued devices. Goals include customer service, measurement accuracy and timeliness, and sales productivity. The position reports to the Assistant Market Manager and has no direct reports.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation.
- At least 1 year of previous related work experience.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily routes for pre-assigned measure appointments efficiently and accurately.
- Ask customers open-ended questions and listen to their project and product needs.
- Describe merchandise features and benefits and explain the steps involved in completing projects.
- Demonstrate product and services knowledge when answering customer questions.
- Identify opportunities to engage customers in other services programs.
- Cooperate with Associates, Supervisors, and Managers to complete other assigned work activities.
- Follow company policies and procedures and adhere to the work schedule.
- Provide accurate measurements and calculations, and review and present quotes.
- Support sales, product inquiries, and coordination of installations.
