Math Instructor (Up to Algebra 1)- Part-Time, After-School
About The Position
Mathnasium is hiring a part-time Math Instructor to coach K–12 students after school. Instructors use Mathnasium’s method and curriculum to help students catch up, keep up, and get ahead in math. Applicants should have math mastery through Algebra 1 and strong people skills; training is provided on instructional delivery. The role offers 10–26 hours per week during the school year and 10–20 hours per week during summer, with consistent shifts selected by the instructor. School-year shifts are Monday–Thursday, 3:00–8:00 p.m. (staggered start times up to 4:00 p.m.), and Saturday–Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Summer shifts are Monday–Friday, 2:00–7:00 p.m. (staggered start times up to 3:30 p.m.). Compensation is $13–$17 per hour based on skills and experience. This is a W-2 role with paid training.
Requirements
- Completed Algebra 2 or higher.
- Strong communication skills and reliability.
- Able to work at least two days per week for the next six months.
Responsibilities
- Guide students through problem-solving using the company curriculum.
- Support students with their school materials.
- Give clear, encouraging feedback to students and parents.
- Track student progress and follow center procedures.
