About The Position
Sylvan Learning of Santa Clarita seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-starting Math Program Manager/Instructor to work in partnership with a local nonprofit agency. The instructor teaches math to help students achieve current school and college-prep readiness, manages individual math programs, tracks student attendance and progress, builds strong relationships with students and center staff, and participates in training and staff meetings. The hourly rate is $20–$22, depending on experience, with a bonus opportunity.
Requirements
- Ability to teach math through upper-level material, such as GED Math, Algebra 1 and 2, and Geometry.
- Bachelor’s degree and educational experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take direction.
- Understanding of the importance and value of education.
- Commitment and desire to contribute to the company’s excellence through local partnerships and student success.
- Ability to demonstrate math concepts.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching credential (any state, any status).
- Prior math instruction or tutoring experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach students math with the goal of current school and college-prep readiness.
