About The Position

Sylvan Learning of Santa Clarita is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-starting Math Program Manager/Instructor to work in partnership with a local nonprofit agency. The instructor teaches math to support students’ current school and college-prep readiness, manages individual math programs, tracks student attendance and progress, builds relationships with students and center staff, and participates in training and staff meetings. The hourly rate is $20–$22, depending on experience, with a bonus opportunity.

Requirements

Ability to teach math through some upper-level material, such as GED Math, Algebra 1 and 2, and Geometry.
Bachelor’s degree and educational experience.
Prior teaching or subject experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and take direction.
Understanding of the importance and value of education.
Commitment and desire to contribute to the company’s excellence through local partnerships and student success.
Ability to demonstrate math concepts.

Nice To Haves

Teaching credential in any state and at any status.
Prior math instruction or tutoring experience.

Responsibilities
