About The Position

Carvana is hiring a Master Level Heavy Body Tech to perform extensive autobody repairs on multiple panels at one of its high-tech vehicle Inspection Centers. The technician is expected to train other autobody technicians and complete heavy plastic welding and stapling; heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding; roof and rocker panel repair; and large-area heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair. The position is identified as second shift and offers a $6,000 bonus. The role may require mandatory overtime based on business needs. Technicians work in a fast-paced, changing production environment and may be exposed to heat or cold. The job requires the ability to operate vehicle equipment and tools and to lift up to 60 pounds independently. Use of personal protective equipment is required. Carvana describes itself as a used automotive retailer with vehicle reconditioning centers where cars are inspected, repaired, and photographed before being listed for sale. Hiring is contingent on passing a background check. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment and sometimes be exposed to excessive heat or cold.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Passing a complete background check is a condition of hiring.
