About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced Heavy Body Technician to perform extensive bodywork on multiple vehicle panels and train other autobody technicians. Work takes place in one of Carvana’s high-tech vehicle Inspection Centers, where vehicles are inspected and reconditioned before being offered to customers. The position requires at least five years of professional automotive bodywork experience. Carvana advertises a $6,000 bonus and offers training programs for employees joining in entry-level roles.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, with possible exposure to heat and cold.
• Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Train other autobody technicians.
• Perform heavy plastic welding and stapling.
• Perform heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding.
• Repair roofs and rocker panels.
• Perform large-area, heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair.
• Work mandatory overtime when required by business needs.
