About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the CHYS 3P36 Fall D2 course. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation for this role is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
  • Must have previously completed CHYS 3P36 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
  • Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

  • If necessary, assure to include documentation for consideration of equivalency.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader for CHYS 3P36 will be considered as equivalent.
  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.
  • Members with seniority can provide seniority date within the application questionnaire.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course.
  • Potentially enter grades into databases at the request of the course instructor.
  • Be available to meet with the Instructor as necessary, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM.
