About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the CHYS 3P20 Fall D2 course. This position involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams. The marker-grader will provide written feedback to students, identifying the basis of the grade assigned, including content, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure. Additionally, the role may include invigilating mid-terms and examinations, entering grades into databases, and meeting with the course instructor as necessary during business hours.

Requirements

• Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
• Must have previously completed CHYS 3P20 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
• Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.
• For courses taken elsewhere, provide a copy of your transcript, highlight the course and provide the course description.

Nice To Haves

• Previous successful experience as a Marker/Grader or Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P20 will be considered as equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
• Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned.
• Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, if requested.
• Enter grades into databases, if requested.
• Be available to meet with the Instructor as necessary, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM.

• Compensation based on qualifications (Master's Degree Complete: $36.00/hour, Undergraduate Degree Complete: $31.04/hour, Third Year Complete: $22.91/hour, Second Year Complete: $20.15/hour, First Year Complete: $19.00/hour).
