About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the CHYS 3P55 Fall D2 - Developmental Neuropsychology course. The compensation for Marker-Grader positions is based on the employee's qualifications. The position is paid according to the Collective Agreement, with rates effective September 1, 2026, varying based on educational attainment from First Year Complete ($19.00/hour) to Master's Degree Complete ($36.00/hour).

Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
  • Must have previously completed CHYS 3V55 (3P55) or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
  • Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • It is the applicant’s responsibility to identify the course for consideration of equivalency. For courses taken at Brock, identify the course (i.e., XXXX 3P00). For courses taken elsewhere provide a copy of your transcript, highlight the course and provide the course description. Failure to provide the required documentation to support the request for consideration of equivalency will result in an incomplete application.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader or Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3V55 (3P55) will be considered as equivalent.
  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • May be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course.
  • May be expected to enter grades into databases at the request of the course instructor.
