About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position in CHYS 3P44 Fall D2 - Gender and Sexuality in Childhood and Youth. The position is paid according to the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and provide written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases at the request of the course instructor.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
  • Must have previously completed CHYS 3P44 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
  • Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.
  • For courses taken elsewhere, provide a copy of your transcript, highlight the course and provide the course description.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader or Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P44 will be considered as equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
