About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position in CHYS 3P44 Fall D2 - Gender and Sexuality in Childhood and Youth. The position is paid according to the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and provide written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases at the request of the course instructor.

Requirements

Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
Must have previously completed CHYS 3P44 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.
For courses taken elsewhere, provide a copy of your transcript, highlight the course and provide the course description.

Nice To Haves

Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader or Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P44 will be considered as equivalent.

Responsibilities

Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
