About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the CHYS 3P24 Fall D2 course, focusing on the Development of Peer Relationships. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The compensation is based on the highest relevant educational qualification achieved by the employee, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be asked to invigilate exams or enter grades into databases. Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
  • Must have previously completed CHYS 3P24 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
  • Evidence of communication skills (i.e., letter of reference attesting to communication skills as a student in seminar or evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader).
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • For courses taken elsewhere, provide a copy of your transcript, highlight the course and provide the course description.
  • Applications must include a cover letter and a current resume.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader or Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P24 will be considered as equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
