About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for ECON 2P37 Winter D3, titled 'The Making of the Modern Economy'. This position involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams. The marker-grader will provide written feedback to students, explaining the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure. Additionally, the role may require invigilating mid-terms and examinations, and entering grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. Compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026: Master’s Degree Complete ($36.00/hour), Undergraduate Degree Complete ($31.04/hour), Third Year Complete ($22.91/hour), Second Year Complete ($20.15/hour), and First Year Complete ($19.00/hour).

Requirements

  • Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
  • Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
  • Able to meet appropriate deadlines.

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
