About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the ECON 2P54 Winter D3 course. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The marker-grader will be responsible for marking various student assessments and providing written feedback. The role may also involve invigilating exams and entering grades into databases. Compensation is based on the highest level of education attained by the employee, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Requirements

• Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
• Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
• Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
• Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
• Must review the current timetable and clearly indicate in the cover letter which scheduled times they are NOT available for.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
• Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
• Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course.
• Potentially enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.

Benefits

• Compensation based on education level (Master's Degree Complete: $36.00/hour, Undergraduate Degree Complete: $31.04/hour, Third Year Complete: $22.91/hour, Second Year Complete: $20.15/hour, First Year Complete: $19.00/hour).
