The Mobile Inspector conducts on-site vehicle condition inspections for dealer clients within an assigned territory. The role documents vehicle condition accurately and promptly according to Manheim inspection standards, helping support client trust, marketplace transparency, and inventory flow. Mobile Inspectors build dealer relationships, represent Cox Automotive, and engage clients to grow participation in Manheim’s mobile inspection services. The role requires working with minimal supervision and exercising sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Candidates may be hired at Level 1, Level 2, or Senior level depending on experience, qualifications, and business need. Level 1 inspectors conduct basic inspections while learning standards and client practices. Level 2 inspectors independently manage assigned inspections and support territory growth. Senior inspectors perform advanced inspections, mentor peers, and serve as a resource on inspection standards. The role is remote in the sense that inspectors can work remotely, but they must live in the specified city, state, or region. It is a day-shift role with no travel listed. The position requires safely locating, starting, moving, inspecting, and returning vehicles on dealer lots, and using a personal vehicle for business, for which reimbursement is provided. A pre-employment drug test is required; the company states it does not currently test for marijuana for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
