About The Position

The Manager, Safety & Security is responsible for managing center safety, security, and fire protection, and serving as a liaison with law enforcement and other support agencies in compliance with government and management directives. The role is at the New Orleans Job Corps Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is scheduled full time, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in safety or industrial hygiene, or a degree in another related field that includes or is supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in safety, industrial hygiene, chemistry, biological sciences, or closely related disciplines.
Experience managing safety and health programs, conducting safety inspections and job hazard analyses, and working knowledge of occupational health and environmental regulations.
Supervisor experience.
Experience with youth.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer proficiency.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and manage the department’s administrative, safety, and security activities.
Serve as liaison between the center and the immediate community on security and law enforcement matters.
Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and recommend personnel changes.
Regularly review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance and effectiveness of services delivered to students, and prepare related reports.
Plan and schedule security officers to maintain adequate security protection at all times.
Conduct periodic safety and security inspections to identify deficiencies and recommend changes.
