About The Position

Fortune Brands Innovations is hiring a Manager, Product Integrity for its Connected Products team. The role leads the team responsible for confirming that connected products—including Flo by Moen water devices, Yale and August smart locks, and Master Lock connected padlocks—meet their requirements before reaching customers. It owns the process of translating requirements from Product, Systems Architecture, and Compliance into tests with defined methods, sample sizes, and pass/fail criteria. The manager leads hardware testing across requirements definition, systems integration, test execution, production testing, reliability testing, and quality inspection. The role owns 100% end-of-line factory testing, including test fixture design and test software. Fixtures may be built in-house or developed with a supplier, depending on test complexity. The manager also provides evidence for program stage gates and uses field performance data to improve requirements and test plans. The position is hybrid and may be based in North Olmsted, Ohio, or San Francisco, California. The product integrity lab is in North Olmsted. Those based in San Francisco should expect occasional travel to North Olmsted. Travel is approximately 15%, including visits to factories in Nogales and Tecate, Mexico, Hanoi, Vietnam, and travel between North Olmsted and San Francisco.

  • Experience developing factory test fixtures at both board level and end of line.
  • Experience writing requirements and verification and validation (V&V) plans.
  • Reliability engineering fluency, including accelerated life testing, Weibull and AFR calculations, sample sizing at a stated confidence, HALT/HASS, thermal testing, drop testing, and cycle-life testing.
  • Ability to design a reliability test plan and interpret failures.
  • Production test experience covering fixtures, test software, design for test (DFT), cycle time, and yield at a contract manufacturer.
  • Experience leading a small technical team.
  • Ability to set direction for test engineers who are more hands-on.

Nice To Haves

  • Battery power model development.
  • Experience with sensor products involving calibration and drift requirements.

  • Set the team’s direction and standards for product integrity and testing.
  • Translate hardware requirements in product requirement documents from Product, Systems Architecture, and Compliance into testable requirements with a defined method, sample size, acceptance criterion, and gate.
  • Provide evidence packages for EVT, DVT, and PVT stage gates, documenting what was tested, the applicable requirement, and the results.
  • Define reliability test plans for each program, including sample sizes, confidence levels, and acceleration factors for environmental testing.
  • Develop production test fixtures and software that meet approved cycle times, with test limits tied to expected field performance.
  • Review product returns and field data, and incorporate findings into requirements and test plans.
  • Own 100% end-of-line testing at the factory, including test fixture design and test software.
  • Travel to factories in Nogales and Tecate, Mexico, Hanoi, Vietnam, and between North Olmsted and San Francisco, as needed.
