Manager, Performance Marketing

Eleanor Health
•$105,000 - $115,000

About The Position

Eleanor Health is hiring a performance marketing leader to diversify paid acquisition beyond its established Google Ads and Microsoft Ads programs, which are managed day to day by a paid search specialist. The role leads strategy and execution across affiliate, programmatic and streaming audio, Meta, and Reddit, and owns the allocation of paid media investment across these channels. The position is hands-on, combining channel development and optimization with website experimentation and conversion improvement. The role is accountable for paid cost per new member, measured end to end as spend divided by members who complete a first visit, as well as website-visitor-to-lead conversion. It builds new channels against member-level economics, manages budget pacing and partners, and develops structured tests for campaigns, creative, landing pages, forms, and online self-scheduling. It maintains tracking and reporting, including offline conversion data and value-based bidding where supported, and ensures paid activity complies with LegitScript certification and platform policies. The role shares accountability across the acquisition funnel. Marketing owns the path from first impression through submitted lead or call; the Access team handles prospective-member contact, insurance verification, scheduling, pre-visit support, and missed-appointment follow-up. The Organic & AI Acquisition team owns lifecycle communications and related content. This position collaborates with both teams through a standing intake funnel review and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer alongside the Access team. The manager directs paid search and paid media specialists, manages channel vendors and affiliate partners, and maintains a quarterly function plan. The position calls for someone who can set strategy while executing directly, work within regulated healthcare marketing constraints, and make decisions based on member outcomes rather than platform-reported leads.

Requirements

  • Roughly 5 or more years of performance or acquisition marketing experience.
  • At least 2 years managing a substantial paid media budget.
  • Hands-on expertise in at least 3 of the 5 channel groupings: Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, affiliate, programmatic and streaming audio, and Meta and Reddit.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of affiliate, programmatic and streaming audio, Meta, or Reddit; expertise in two is preferred.
  • A record of launching a paid channel from zero and scaling it based on member-level or customer-level economics rather than platform-reported conversions.
  • Working knowledge of Google and Microsoft Ads sufficient to direct and audit a specialist.
  • Demonstrated experience running a structured experimentation program.
  • Ability to build and defend reporting, measure through the end of the funnel rather than only to the lead, and handle imperfect attribution in affiliate, audio, and programmatic.
  • Familiarity with incrementality testing.
  • Experience directing specialists, contractors, or vendors.
  • Sound judgment in a setting with compliance constraints involving patient privacy, partner compensation, and advertising policy.
  • Ability to prioritize under constraint and maintain a plan as conditions change.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare, behavioral health, or other regulated-category marketing experience.
  • LegitScript certification experience or familiarity with addiction treatment advertising policy.
  • Experience running an affiliate program on a network or platform.
  • Experience with a customer data platform or call-tracking tools.
  • Experience working alongside a contact center or intake team on shared conversion targets.
  • Multi-state or multi-market experience.
  • Experience managing at least one direct report.

Responsibilities

  • Own paid cost per new member as a quarterly target, accounting for seasonality and monthly variation.
  • Own budget pacing and allocation across paid channels, shifting investment toward effective activity.
  • Build, test, and scale affiliate, programmatic and streaming audio, Meta, and Reddit, with defined budgets, success criteria, and scale-or-stop decisions.
  • Build and optimize campaigns in newer channels, managing partners and platforms against member-level outcomes.
  • Manage programmatic and streaming audio partners, including planning, creative requirements, measurement, and incrementality.
  • Direct the Google Ads and Microsoft Ads paid search specialist by setting priorities, reviewing work, and independently auditing accounts.
  • Design and run structured tests of bid strategies and campaign types, including AI Max, with success criteria defined before launch.
  • Plan for seasonal changes in demand and cost per click.
  • Maintain offline conversion tracking and value-based bidding where supported.
  • Ensure paid activity complies with LegitScript certification and platform policies for addiction treatment advertising.
  • Build and manage the affiliate program by recruiting and vetting partners, setting terms, tracking quality, and discontinuing underperforming partners.
  • Structure affiliate and partner compensation with Legal and Compliance, including consideration of EKRA and Anti-Kickback requirements.
  • Hold partners to member-level quality, advertising standards, and privacy standards.
  • Own website-visitor-to-lead conversion.
  • Build and run a disciplined experimentation program, documenting hypotheses, pre-declared success measures, and results, including unsuccessful tests.
  • Prioritize the testing roadmap by expected impact.
  • Own the online self-scheduling experience and the forms that lead into it.
  • Partner with content and design colleagues on landing-page development and publishing.
  • Partner with the Organic & AI Acquisition team on page changes that affect conversion and discoverability.
  • Maintain a view of the funnel from first impression to submitted lead and identify its weakest step.
  • Establish and maintain conversion baselines for each funnel step in agreement with the data and analytics consultant.
  • Report cost per new member and member quality by channel, including channels with imperfect tracking, and use incrementality tests when attribution is insufficient.
  • Participate in the standing intake funnel review with Access and the lifecycle owner.
  • Maintain clean attribution between paid and non-paid sources.
  • Report monthly performance against target and explain variances.
  • Direct paid search and paid media specialists by setting written expectations, maintaining a feedback cadence, and developing them.
  • Manage affiliate networks, programmatic and audio partners, and other channel vendors.
  • Maintain a quarterly function plan with priorities, expected impact, owners, and timelines.
