About The Position

The Inventory Manager leads, coaches, and embodies Nordstrom values for the Inventory Control team. The role focuses on meeting or exceeding customer needs, accomplishing results, and maintaining inventory accuracy throughout the store. The manager oversees inventory control functions, staffing and scheduling, labor expense, team productivity, hiring and retention, communication of business updates, and continuous improvement. The position also supports the customer experience across the market by driving inventory accuracy standards.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and drive execution of inventory management best practices and standards throughout the store to achieve unit-level accuracy.
Coach and develop the team to be productive and deliver desired outcomes.
Oversee the execution of Inventory Control functions.
Manage staffing and scheduling needs based on company forecasts and other resources to support inventory control activities during normal operations and key events.
Manage labor expense and improve individual and collective team productivity.
Hire and retain talent across roles while building a bench for future roles.
Share business updates and initiatives effectively with the team to streamline communication and change management.
Create a fun and inclusive work environment that supports an “ALL IN TO WIN” culture and achievement of goals.
Champion continuous improvement.
Support the customer experience across the market in a digital world by driving inventory accuracy standards.
