About The Position

Braswell & Son, a family-owned company since 1979 with eight luxury pawn stores across Arkansas and Tennessee, is seeking a Manager in Training. This role is designed to develop future Store Managers from within the company. The Manager in Training position is a paid, hourly role with commission and spiff opportunities, offering a structured path to Assistant Store Manager and then Store Manager. The training program will cover all aspects of the luxury pawn business, including testing gold, grading diamonds, authenticating luxury goods, writing pawn loans, making forfeit decisions, coaching sales and pawn processes, financial reporting (daily reports and P&Ls), scheduling, and store operations (opening/closing, cash handling, security). Trainees will be on the floor with customers from the first week, carrying goals and stepping into leadership roles, with the expectation of being able to run the store independently when the Store Manager is absent.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of leadership experience (supervisor, team lead, keyholder, shift manager, or comparable).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 18 years or older.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel to Little Rock, AR for scheduled training.
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods, and lift and move merchandise, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Test gold, grade diamonds, authenticate designer handbags, and spot counterfeit luxury items.
  • Write quality pawn loans and make sound forfeit decisions.
  • Coach selling behaviors on the floor and pawn process in the back room.
  • Read and understand daily reports and monthly P&Ls.
  • Build a schedule that balances coverage, payroll, and employee growth.
  • Manage opening, closing, cash handling, and store security as a key carrier.
  • Plan store events and participate in community engagement.
  • Work on the sales floor with customers and carry sales goals.
  • Step into leadership roles as readiness is demonstrated.
