About The Position

Regal Cinemas at the Shoppes at Ithaca is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to perform minor repairs and general facility maintenance throughout the theatre. The role includes auditorium and projection booth repairs, but excludes equipment or maintenance covered by the Technical Services Department. The technician represents Regal in a manner consistent with its mission statement and policies and may train theatre personnel in safe, proper minor maintenance practices. Early morning availability until early afternoon is preferred to allow work before the theatre opens to the public.

Requirements

Prior maintenance experience preferred.
Must be certified as a cast member.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively with management orally and in writing.
Ability to listen effectively, respond clearly, and explain information to others.
Ability to identify problems, gather relevant information, evaluate alternatives, reach evidence-based conclusions, and implement solutions.
Ability to take initiative and perform under pressure or opposition.
Ability to work effectively with coworkers and show sensitivity to others.
Frequently stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach, and talk or hear.
Frequently climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Perform minor repairs throughout the theatre, including the projection booth, while excluding work covered by the Technical Services Department.
Inspect and repair auditorium seats in a timely manner.
Perform tile work and sheetrock repairs.
Change light bulbs and fixtures as needed, including projection booth fixtures.
Paint and perform general facility maintenance.
Repair fan motors and perform other minor repairs as needed.
Train theatre personnel in the proper and safe performance of minor repairs and maintenance.
Complete the daily inspection report.
Work with management to obtain qualified personnel for larger maintenance concerns.
Know how to arm, disarm, and operate the alarm system.
Follow safety and emergency procedures.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and a professional appearance appropriate to the work.
