About The Position

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring the proper functioning of warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. This role is responsible for monitoring and driving department performance, ensuring associate compliance with state and federal regulations (OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT), and managing assigned financial aspects by monitoring expenses, capital expenditures, and asset utilization. The position also involves supervising and developing associates and leaders, fostering a culture of belonging, and upholding Walmart's values of Respect the Individual, Act with Integrity, Serve Our Customers and Members, and Strive for Excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent technical certification (e.g., Maintenance, Controls, Electrical) and 1 year of experience in an operations, distribution, logistics, or retail environment with responsibilities including: supervising and developing managers/supervisors, managing workload across multiple departments, participating in hiring and promotions.
  • OR at least 3 years of experience in a maintenance or related technical environment with the same leadership and staffing responsibilities listed above.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
  • Drive and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety) and implement operational improvements.
  • Forecast and follow up on staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands.
  • Manage assigned financial aspects by monitoring and tracking expenses compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Monitor and ensure area of responsibility's compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Identify and ensure associate, customer, and supplier concerns are resolved.
  • Supervise and manage associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth.
