LVN / LPN - Medical Surgical
About The Position
This is a 13-week assignment for an LPN/LVN in a Medical Surgical unit. Experience in acute care is required. The role involves floating per facility needs and working 3x12 hour shifts, with an option for 4x12s without overtime until after 52 hours. Guaranteed hours are 36 unless signing for 4x12s. The position requires working every other weekend and every other holiday. All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application, as any RTO requested after an offer will not be approved. It is the traveler's responsibility to cover any additional shifts if they call off. The call-off policy allows for 3 shifts per 13-week assignment.
Requirements
- LPN/LVN - acute care experience REQUIRED
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience (within the past year)
- NY State License (or application submitted with submission date)
- BLS certification
- 8 hours of stroke education
Responsibilities
- Medication Administration
- MS/Tele duties
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Peripheral Line Care/Management
- Nasal Cannula and Oxygen administration
- Oxygen tanks
- Non-invasive airway management
- Isolation precaution duties
