About The Position
Rochester General Hospital is a 528-bed acute care teaching facility in Rochester, NY. It is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, and offers specialized services through the Sands-Constellation Heart Institute, Lipson Cancer Institute, Neuroscience Institute, Pediatric & Young Adult Emergency Center, Twig Birthing Center, and advanced surgical programs including vascular, thoracic, and surgical oncology. This position is for an LPN in the Medical Surgical unit.
Requirements
- Must have an active New York Single State LPN license
- BLS certification required
- EPIC experience required
- Acute Care experience within the last 2 years
- Must be able to take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN

Responsibilities
- Take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN
- Perform vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring
- Implement isolation precautions and manage physical restraints
- Perform specimen labeling and administer Oxygen via nasal cannula
- Manage feeding tubes and perform Telemetry monitoring
- Perform 12-lead EKG
- Administer medications (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops)
- Perform IV therapy with pumps
- Monitor blood glucose levels
- Perform wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains)
- Assist with bathing and mouth care
- Perform Foley catheter insertion (male/female)
- Collect clean catch urine samples
- Communicate status changes to RN/MD
- Provide care in an MS/Tele care setting
- Float within skillset as required
