About The Position

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Medical Surgical unit. This is a 13-week contract position with 3x12 hour shifts per week, either day or night rotation (7a-7p/7p-7a). The role requires every other weekend availability and the ability to work every other holiday if needed. EPIC experience is required for charting. Requests for RTO, blocks, and special scheduling must be submitted upon submission. The client may cancel up to three shifts during the contract period without charge. Locals are accepted for LPNs at a reduced rate. This position is open to first-time travelers.

Requirements

  • Active New York Single State LPN license
  • BLS certification
  • Acute Care experience within the last 2 years
  • EPIC charting experience

Responsibilities

  • Take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN
  • Administer blood products
  • Provide central line care/management
  • Provide peripheral line care/management
  • Perform phlebotomy
  • Manage PICC lines
  • Start and maintain IVs
  • Administer High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
  • Administer Nasal Cannula oxygen
  • Administer oxygen via tanks
  • Provide trach care/management
  • Provide feeding tube care/management
  • Administer Heparin Protocols
  • Manage Pacemakers/Temp/Perm
  • Monitor telemetry on the unit
  • Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Implement Isolation Precautions
  • Provide Wound Care/Wound Vac
  • Manage MS/Tele patients
  • Care for Ortho trauma patients
  • Care for Total Joint Replacements
  • Manage Surgical drains
  • Float within skillset as needed
