About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. It also supports store shrink-reduction goals, promotes safety awareness, and helps maintain a safe environment. The position involves observing, apprehending, or deterring acts of dishonesty; participating in investigations and surveillance as assigned; coordinating shrink-related activities with Store Management; and completing and distributing accurate, timely paperwork. The Detective maintains appropriate evidence, understands law enforcement procedures, and participates professionally in legal activities as needed. The role provides courteous, knowledgeable customer service, maintains confidentiality, and adheres to labor laws, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines, ensuring they are consistent with store theft activity.
Communicate with store Associates on damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promote a culture of honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
Maintain appropriate evidence, demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed.
Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
