About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. It also supports store shrink-reduction goals and programs and promotes safety awareness and a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
• Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
• Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
• Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
• Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
• Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Encourage Associates to use shrink-reduction resources.
• Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
