Loss Prevention Detective
About The Position
The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role conducts apprehensions within established policies and guidelines, communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives, and identifies and resolves internal and external theft. The Detective supports investigations, surveillance, evidence handling, and legal activities as needed. The role also partners with Store Management on shrink-related activities, supports store shrink-reduction goals, encourages Associates to use shrink-reduction resources, and promotes safety awareness and a safe environment. It provides customers with timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service and maintains confidentiality while promoting honesty and integrity. The position is at Marshalls Store 1112 in Orange, California. Starting pay is $16.90 to $20.40 per hour, with actual starting pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
- Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
- Conduct apprehensions in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and shoplifter procedures.
- Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
- Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
- Provide customers with timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
- Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
- Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
- Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
- Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
- Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, including police calls.
- Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
- Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
