About The Position

The Logistics Specialist I provides analytical and operating support for HLBMA shipping responsibilities. This role facilitates shipping requirements and supports a smooth flow of products into the facility and from the facility to their end destination. Responsibilities include initiating the carrier quote process, analyzing freight carrier capabilities, and providing carrier recommendations based on the ability to meet customer requirements. The position partners closely with business units, Manufacturing, suppliers, and global headquarters to align shipping execution with business and customer needs. This is an entry-level position with development opportunity into more advanced logistics and supply chain responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field required, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in supply chain within a manufacturing plant or related experience
  • Internship, co-op, or equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of full-time experience
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret shipping, inventory, and service data
  • Understanding of material flow, shipping and receiving procedures, and carrier selection principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams, carriers, suppliers, and global stakeholders
  • Strong desire to advance in the supply chain field
  • Ability to sit or remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and office equipment
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, and move within office, warehouse, and operational areas
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and move typical office materials, equipment, and material samples

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of procedures related to material flow preferred
  • Experience with freight carriers, shipping documentation, or transportation coordination preferred
  • Experience working with ERP or transportation management systems preferred
  • Bilingual (Korean and English) language proficiency preferred to support coordination with Korean-speaking customers, suppliers, vendors, and global headquarters on logistics and shipment activities

Responsibilities

  • Execute logistical operations and responsibilities in the field, ensuring efficient coordination and timely delivery of required services and resources
  • Determine the most efficient means of shipping, considering urgency of delivery, carrier capability to meet or exceed time requirements, and cost
  • Initiate the carrier quote process, analyze freight carrier capabilities, and recommend carriers based on the ability to meet customer requirements
  • Track and troubleshoot shipment deliveries and issues, and provide delivery confirmations upon completion
  • Verify that product availability and manufacturing lead times are accurate and will meet customer requirements
  • Maintain records for all outbound shipments; analyze shipping data and provide detail as requested
  • Support on-time delivery (OTD) and metric achievement, including expediting, tracking, and reporting
  • Provide planning analysis to support operational decision making
  • Publish and present service and inventory metrics and results
  • Work closely with business units to understand customer requirements and forecasts
  • Partner with Manufacturing to ensure alignment to business requirements by setting and maintaining target inventory levels
  • Actively manage working and non-working inventories in assigned business areas to maintain compliance
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and global headquarters to support logistics planning, shipment execution, and issue resolution
  • Identify areas for improvement across shipping and receiving functions
  • Support development of shipping and receiving processes and procedures
  • Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
