About The Position
D&G Transportation, a family-owned national LTL carrier, is seeking a full-time Logistics Dispatch Assistant / Freight Coordinator to join its dispatch team in Germantown, Wisconsin. The role is onsite and non-exempt. The employee will be cross-trained on various duties and is integral to the company’s success. Transportation or supply chain experience is required. The hourly wage is $26 or more, negotiable according to experience, with reviews at three and six months. Strong performance may provide opportunities for career growth.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in logistics and supply chain.
- Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Collaborative approach, strong listening skills, and excellent communication skills.
- Unwavering attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Geographic awareness of the United States.
Responsibilities
- Plan and optimize loads.
- Assist in resolving driver issues, including detentions, breakdowns, and weather delays.
- Ensure loads comply with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Use website portals to schedule pickup and delivery appointments.
- Prepare and generate dispatch documentation, including shipping manifests, bills of lading, and proof of delivery.
