The Marine Logistics Coordinator provides 24-hour communication with customers and employees to schedule and dispatch on-call tankermen and dock operators to job sites. Coordinators enter job-specific information into a computer program, monitor projected vessel arrival times at designated docks, and select appropriate personnel to meet vessels and load or discharge cargo. They receive field personnel data and enter information for payroll and billing, and plan and coordinate work coverage. The role involves data entry, planning, communication, and problem solving. Coordinators also receive incident reports from field employees and initiate the appropriate company response, including entering information into the incident reporting system. The position is based in a relatively quiet office setting. It involves sustained sitting, computer and screen work, keyboarding, typing, and repetitive wrist movements. The role also requires sound professional judgment, effective verbal and written communication, translating high-level instructions into executable processes, and completing medium to large projects with minimal assistance and supervision.
