About The Position
Working within the Logistics department and reporting to the General Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, packaging, marking, and loading of shipments of Nikkiso products and maintaining records of inbound and outbound shipments. The role also assists with warehouse functions as needed. The position works in both office and shop environments at company sites and includes safety training and use of approved PPE as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of logistics software (ERP), online shipping services such as FedEx.com, DHL.com, and UPS.com, and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, best practices, and requirements.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Forklift certified.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including lifting 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain shipment paperwork.
- Maintain shipment logs and records.
- Coordinate shipments with customers and/or freight forwarders for pickup and delivery.
- Troubleshoot shipping issues, including loading plans, multiple truckloads, weight limitations, and driver issues.
- Pack and mark products appropriately to prevent loss or damage, consistent with transportation methods.
- Check orders for accuracy and stage crates and orders in preparation for pickup.
- Track shipments and update customers on shipment status.
- Mark crates according to customer requirements, including ink stenciling and spray paint.
- Interact with truck drivers and carriers and load trucks and trailers.
- Assist with warehouse functions.
- Make local deliveries.
- Perform cycle counts.
- Complete required safety training and participate in other training as directed by the company or manager.
- Wear Nikkiso-approved PPE as needed and ensure applicable safety and PPE requirements are enforced.
