About The Position

This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential surgical care and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Locum Orthopedic Surgeon, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and surgically treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and disorders. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, physical therapists, and other specialists, to deliver comprehensive and compassionate orthopedic care. Your expertise will directly contribute to restoring mobility and improving the quality of life for patients in the Rochester community.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of New York
  • Experience at an Associate level in orthopedic surgery
  • Proven surgical skills in orthopedic procedures
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Willingness to work on-site and fulfill the requirements of a contract position
  • Must be board-certified

Nice To Haves

  • Level I Trauma experience
  • Experience with high volume of pelvic fractures
  • Experience with Orthopedic trauma, pelvic reconstruction, and acetabular case types

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients to assess and diagnose orthopedic conditions, injuries, and diseases
  • Perform surgical procedures to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, and congenital deformities
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, including surgical and non-surgical options
  • Prescribe medications, physical therapy, and other rehabilitative treatments
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Provide patient education on injury prevention, recovery, and long-term health management
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide emergency orthopedic care as needed
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery techniques and technologies
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
