About The Position

This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality orthopedic care in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Locum Orthopedic Surgeon, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive surgical and non-surgical treatment to patients while collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. In this role, you will diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, perform orthopedic surgical procedures, and provide expert consultation to patients and referring physicians. You will work closely with nursing staff, physician assistants, and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimal clinical outcomes. This position offers the flexibility of a locum contract while allowing you to make a meaningful impact in the field of orthopedic medicine.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Associate-level experience in orthopedic surgery or related clinical practice
  • Proven proficiency in performing orthopedic surgical procedures and managing pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to interpret imaging studies and laboratory results accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical medical practices
  • Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
  • Willingness to work on-site and participate in on-call schedules as needed

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal disorders, injuries, and conditions affecting the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles
  • Perform orthopedic surgical procedures including fracture repairs, joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, and soft tissue repairs
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic imaging interpretation
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care and follow-up to ensure optimal recovery outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, physical therapists, and physician assistants
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulatory and practice standards
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options, recovery expectations, and preventive care
  • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency orthopedic consultations as required
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgical techniques and evidence-based practices
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable medical regulations, licensing requirements, and patient safety protocols
