About The Position

This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Locum MD/DO, you will deliver comprehensive medical care to patients, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of care, diagnosing and treating a diverse range of medical conditions, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence in the Medical Practice industry.

Requirements

  • MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid medical license in good standing to practice in the state of Maine
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty
  • Associate-level experience in a clinical or medical practice setting
  • Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
  • Proven ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Willingness to work on-site in Lewiston on a contract basis
  • Must be board-certified
  • DEA required

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary and urgent care to patients across a diverse demographic
  • Conduct thorough patient examinations, take medical histories, and perform physical assessments
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with clinical guidelines
  • Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments while monitoring patient progress
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and health management
  • Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and patient safety standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings as required
  • Manage patient flow efficiently to ensure timely access to care
