About The Position

This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality orthopedic care in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Locum Orthopedic Surgeon, you will deliver comprehensive surgical and non-surgical treatment for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes, from diagnosis through recovery, while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.

Requirements

  • MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
  • Completed residency in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state
  • DEA license and current BLS/ACLS certification
  • Associate-level experience in orthopedic surgical practice
  • Proficiency in performing orthopedic surgical procedures and interpreting diagnostic imaging
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in medical documentation
  • Must be board-certified

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Perform orthopedic surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and arthroscopic surgeries
  • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and other clinical assessments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical history
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education and follow-up
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency orthopedic consultations as required
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment options
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery techniques and best practices
  • Cover emergency department and transfer center calls related to hand injuries
