About The Position

Bon Secours - Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center is seeking Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage for various open dates throughout the year. This role involves providing 24-hour call coverage in a hospital-based setting to fill gaps in existing call schedules. The physician will be responsible for performing a range of cardiothoracic procedures and managing adult patients. Support staff includes 3 PAs, and the facility has 20 operating rooms. The Electronic Medical Record system used is EPIC.

Requirements

Board Certified
Active Ohio License
Fellowship Training
BLS/ACLS certification
Must be available to cover the dates listed in the job posting
Must be able to perform all required procedures listed
Self-Query NPDB that has been pulled within 30-days of presentation

Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour call coverage for Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Perform Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG).
Perform Arterial Revascularization using internal mammary arteries, radial artery, and gastroepiploic artery.
Perform Redo Coronary Revascularization (With or Without Heart Valve Surgery).
Perform Pericardial Window procedures.
Perform Heart Valve Repair/Replacement surgery.
Perform Mitral Valve Repair.
Manage adult patient demographic.
Participate in rounding.
Document patient care using EPIC EMR system.
Cover specific dates as listed in the job posting.
Be available for weekend and on-call requirements.
