About The Position

Mariner Finance is hiring a Loan Sales Associate to provide customer service and support loan sales at an assigned branch. The role processes loan applications, reviews customers’ credit and financial information, presents loan solutions and other available products, and works to resolve delinquent balances. The associate is responsible for achieving individual and branch sales goals, following applicable consumer laws, and handling cash, payments, and deposits. Additional duties may be assigned according to market demand and branch staffing.

The position is based at the assigned branch, and the employee must be physically present in the office except in an emergency as determined by the company. The stated schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday work is required seasonally and as business needs require. The company may change the schedule to address business needs. Compensation is $18.00–$21.00 per hour, plus eligibility for a monthly incentive based on individual and company performance. Full-time employees receive a benefits package.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs, with the ability to learn financial services programs.
• Ability to complete essential duties and functions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
• Must obtain applicable required licenses to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
• Must perform work-related tasks at the assigned branch location, except in an emergency as determined by the company in consultation, as necessary, with applicable regulatory agencies.

Nice To Haves

• Cash handling, selling, and/or collecting experience.
• Some college coursework.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and presenting available sales products.
• Process credit loan applications and analyze credit and financial information for current and potential customers.
• Contact customers with past-due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
• Meet or exceed individual and branch goals related to sales of company products and services.
• Learn and comply with applicable federal, state, and local consumer application laws.
• Maintain a cash drawer, process payments, and deliver daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
• Perform additional functions as needed based on market demand and branch staffing.
