About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and supports customers and associates with locating, selecting, staging, carrying, and loading merchandise. The role also supports checkout, fulfillment, order accuracy, replenishment, and safe, orderly work areas inside the store and in the parking lot. Associates use store technology and power equipment as needed, follow Lowe’s safety procedures, and report hazards, theft, and security concerns. Loader responsibilities may include supporting Pro customers from arrival through order completion, assisting with large or complex orders, and maintaining the Pro loading area and canopy. In the Garden Center, the associate helps customers and associates load products, supports accurate and safe fulfillment, and coordinates with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged for pickup.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and accurately prepare customer and contractor orders.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Down stock and replenish merchandise to maintain in-stock conditions.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the role and department.
Communicate product stock, special-order, feature, application, warranty, and Lowe’s program information to customers; provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For the Pro Loader role, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively assist with loading, staging, and fulfillment.
Remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy, and respond promptly to loading requests.
Build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
Maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
Complete required power equipment and spotter training and load vehicles using appropriate techniques for order size, weight, and fulfillment needs.
For the Garden Center Loader role, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders throughout the Garden Center loading area.
Support large, high-quality Garden Center orders while maintaining product accuracy and safety.
Partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure customer orders are staged and ready for pickup.
