About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate supports customer service, order fulfillment, merchandise handling, and safe, clean store operations. The role assists customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise; supports checkout and fulfillment needs; prepares orders; replenishes merchandise; collects carts; and helps maintain organized work areas inside the store and in the parking lot. Associates use store technology and power equipment safely, follow Lowe’s safety procedures, and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns. Additional responsibilities may vary by role and department. For the Pro-focused Loader role, the associate supports Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, remains available in the Pro loading area, responds to loading requests, assists with large or complex orders, and supports enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings. The associate maintains Pro Standards in the parking lot and beneath the Pro canopy, and loads vehicles accurately using appropriate techniques. For the Garden Center Loader role, the associate assists customers and associates with loading and order completion, stays available in the Garden Center loading area, supports large orders, and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup. Required power equipment and spotter training supports safe and efficient loading.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting products, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials into or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond promptly to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the assigned role and department, such as a Zebra phone, paging system, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, or compactor baler.
Communicate information about stock, special orders, product features, applications, warranties, and Lowe’s programs; answer questions and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For Pro Loader roles, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively engage customers while assisting with loading, staging, and order fulfillment.
For Pro Loader roles, remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy; respond quickly to loading requests and assist with large or complex orders.
For Pro Loader roles, build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For Pro Loader roles, maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy, complete required power equipment and spotter training, and load vehicles accurately using appropriate techniques.
For Garden Center Loader roles, assist with customer and associate loading and order completion; remain visible and available throughout the Garden Center loading area.
For Garden Center Loader roles, complete required power equipment and spotter training, load vehicles appropriately, support large high-quality orders, and partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup.
