About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate supports customers throughout the store by helping locate, select, carry, load, and fulfill merchandise orders. The role includes using store technology and power equipment to move, stage, and load products safely, replenishing merchandise, supporting checkout and fulfillment, collecting carts, and maintaining clean and organized work areas. Associates communicate product and program information, provide project guidance when needed, follow safety procedures, and report hazards or security concerns. Depending on the assignment, the Loader may support Pro customers by assisting with loading and order fulfillment, remaining available in the Pro loading area, supporting customer relationships and Pro program enrollment, and maintaining Pro Standards. In the Garden Center, the Loader assists customers with loading and orders, helps stage orders for pickup, and supports accurate, safe fulfillment of large orders.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond promptly to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the assigned role and department.
Communicate stock, special-order merchandise, product features, applications, warranties, and Lowe’s program information; answer questions and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
For Pro Loader assignments, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively assist with loading, staging, and fulfillment.
For Pro Loader assignments, remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, respond quickly to loading requests, and help serve large or complex orders efficiently.
For Pro Loader assignments, support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings and maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
For Loader assignments, complete required power equipment and spotter training and load customer vehicles using appropriate techniques based on order size, weight, and fulfillment needs.
For Garden Center assignments, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders, remain available in the loading area, and partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged for pickup.
