About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and supports merchandise movement, order fulfillment, checkout, and store upkeep. The role assists customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise; pulls, stages, and prepares orders; replenishes merchandise; collects carts; and maintains clean, organized, safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot. Associates use store technology and power equipment safely, follow safety procedures, and report hazards, theft, or security concerns. They also provide customers with product and program information and project guidance when needed. Loader responsibilities may include supporting Pro customers from arrival through order completion, responding to loading requests, maintaining the Pro loading area, and building relationships with repeat customers. In the Garden Center, the role supports customer loading and order completion, keeps the loading area attended, and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to stage orders for pickup. Across these areas, associates use proper loading techniques and maintain order accuracy, product quality, and safety. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading product or material in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Assist customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise, and respond to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the assigned role and department.
Communicate stock, special order, product feature, application, warranty, and Lowe’s program information to customers; provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
For Pro-focused Loader duties, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively assist with loading, staging, and fulfillment.
Remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy, and respond promptly to loading requests.
Support repeat Pro customer relationships and enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
Maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
Complete required power equipment and spotter training and load customer vehicles using appropriate techniques.
For Garden Center Loader duties, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders; remain available in the Garden Center loading area.
Support large Garden Center orders while maintaining product accuracy and safety, and partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to stage orders for pickup.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
