About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and supports checkout, fulfillment, order staging, merchandise loading, and store upkeep. The role assists customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise; prepares orders accurately; replenishes merchandise; and uses store technology and power equipment safely. The associate also helps maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and communicates product, stock, and program information to customers. For the Pro-specific Loader role, the associate supports Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, remains available in the Pro loading area, responds to loading requests, and helps fulfill large or complex orders. The role also supports customer enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings and maintains Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy. For the Garden Center-specific Loader role, the associate assists customers and associates with loading and order completion, remains available throughout the Garden Center loading area, supports accurate fulfillment of large orders, and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s policies, procedures, and programs.
Assist customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise, and respond to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Down stock and replenish merchandise to maintain in-stock conditions.
Support large order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the role and department, such as Zebra phones, telephones, paging systems, copiers, computers, CCTV systems, key cutters, panel saws, paint mixers, flooring cutters, and compactor balers.
Communicate stock, special order, product feature, application, warranty, and Lowe’s program information; answer questions and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For the Pro Loader role, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively engage Pro customers during loading, staging, and fulfillment.
For the Pro Loader role, remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy, and respond quickly to loading requests for large or complex orders.
For the Pro Loader role, build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For the Pro Loader role, maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
Complete required power equipment and spotter training for safe and efficient loading.
Load customer vehicles using appropriate techniques based on order size, weight, and fulfillment needs, while ensuring accuracy, product quality, and safety.
For the Garden Center Loader role, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders in the Garden Center loading area.
For the Garden Center Loader role, support completion of large, high-quality orders while maintaining product accuracy and safety.
For the Garden Center Loader role, partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure customer orders are staged and ready for pickup.
