About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and helps customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise. The role supports checkout, fulfillment, and other in-store customer assistance needs; accurately pulls, stages, and prepares customer and contractor orders; replenishes merchandise; collects carts; and maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot. Associates use store technology and power equipment as needed and follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures. For the Pro-focused Loader role, the associate supports Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, assists with loading and order fulfillment in the Pro loading area, and helps maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy. The role also supports customer relationships and enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings. For the Garden Center-focused Loader role, the associate assists with customer loading and order completion throughout the Garden Center, supports large orders, and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup. The associate completes required power equipment and spotter training and loads customer vehicles using appropriate techniques while protecting product quality and safety.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading product or material in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in accordance with Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Assist customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise, and respond promptly to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and accurately prepare customer and contractor orders.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the role and department.
Communicate information about stock, special order merchandise, product features, applications, warranties, and Lowe’s programs; answer questions and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For the Pro-focused Loader role, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively assist with loading, staging, and order fulfillment.
For the Pro-focused Loader role, remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy, and respond quickly to loading requests.
For the Pro-focused Loader role, build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For the Pro-focused Loader role, maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
For Loader roles, complete required power equipment and spotter training and load customer vehicles using appropriate techniques based on order size, weight, and fulfillment needs.
For the Garden Center-focused Loader role, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders throughout the Garden Center.
For the Garden Center-focused Loader role, support large, high-quality orders while maintaining product accuracy and safety.
For the Garden Center-focused Loader role, partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure customer orders are staged and ready for pickup.
