About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and helps customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise. The role supports checkout, fulfillment, customer assistance, and the accurate preparation of customer and contractor orders. It uses store technology and power equipment safely to move, stage, and load merchandise, and helps keep merchandise in stock through replenishment and down stocking. The associate also collects carts, maintains clean and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot, and reports safety hazards, theft, and security concerns. Depending on the specific role and department, the associate operates store equipment and provides customers with information about merchandise, stock, special orders, product features, applications, warranties, and Lowe’s programs. The associate follows Lowe’s safety procedures, including requirements for power equipment, spotters, and safety devices, and performs additional duties as assigned. For the Pro Loader role, additional duties include supporting Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, assisting with loading and fulfillment in the Pro area, responding promptly to loading requests, and supporting MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit enrollment. The associate maintains Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy, completes required equipment and spotter training, and loads vehicles accurately and safely. For the Garden Center Loader role, additional duties include assisting customers and associates with loading and orders throughout the Garden Center, completing required equipment and spotter training, loading vehicles safely and accurately, and partnering with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup.

Requirements

Six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Six months of retail experience.
Six months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
Six months of retail merchandising experience, including zone recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
Six months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading product or material into or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond promptly to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the specific role and department.
Communicate stock, special-order, product, warranty, and Lowe’s program information to customers; provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including requirements for power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
For the Pro Loader role, support Pro customer relationships and assist with loading, staging, and order fulfillment in the Pro area.
For the Pro Loader role, remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, respond quickly to loading requests, and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For the Pro Loader role, maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy, and load customer vehicles accurately and safely.
For the Garden Center Loader role, assist customers and associates with Garden Center loading and orders, and remain available throughout the loading area.
For the Garden Center Loader role, support accurate, safe completion of large orders and partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to stage orders for pickup.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
