About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service throughout the store by assisting customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise; supporting checkout, fulfillment, and other customer assistance needs; and preparing customer and contractor orders. The role uses store technology and power equipment to move, stage, and load merchandise, maintains in-stock conditions, collects carts, and helps keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. The associate follows Lowe’s safety policies and reports safety hazards, theft, and security concerns. Depending on the role and department, the associate may operate equipment such as a Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, or compacter baler. The associate also shares product and Lowe’s program information with customers, provides project guidance when needed, and performs additional duties as assigned. For the Pro role, the associate supports Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, remains visible in the Pro loading area, responds to loading requests, and helps fulfill large or complex orders. Responsibilities also include building relationships with repeat Pro customers, supporting enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings, maintaining Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy, completing required power equipment and spotter training, and loading orders accurately and safely. For the Garden Center role, the associate assists customers and associates with loading and order completion, remains available in the Garden Center loading area, completes required power equipment and spotter training, loads vehicles appropriately, supports large orders while maintaining accuracy and safety, and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading product or material in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service according to Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the assigned role and department.
Communicate stock, special-order merchandise, product features, application, warranty, and Lowe’s program information to customers, and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For the Pro role, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively engage Pro customers during loading, staging, and order fulfillment.
For the Pro role, remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy, and respond quickly to loading requests.
For the Pro role, build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For the Pro role, maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
Complete required power equipment and spotter training to support safe and efficient loading practices.
Load customer vehicles using proper techniques based on order size, weight, and fulfillment needs; ensure orders are accurate and product quality and safety standards are maintained.
For the Garden Center role, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders, and remain available in the Garden Center loading area.
For the Garden Center role, support completion of large, high-quality orders while maintaining product accuracy and safety.
For the Garden Center role, partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure customer orders are staged and ready for pickup.
