About The Position

Visiting Angels of Baytown is hiring caregivers to serve clients in Anahuac, Mont Belvieu, Baytown, Dayton, Liberty, and other local communities. The Live-in Home Health Aide helps improve clients’ quality of life and supports their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. Duties may include personal care and hygiene, light exercise and walks, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, medication reminders, mobility assistance, and accompanying clients on appointments, errands, or shopping trips. The aide reports health changes or unusual incidents and responds responsibly to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available to caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
